I came into veterinary nursing at the ripe old age of 37 having owned and run a hotel for the previous 12 years. My children were 7 and 4 years old. I trained with Julie at Farnborough Tec and then completed the course in Aldershot in 2002.

I worked in two practices during my career. I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of being a veterinary nurse, yes even the full weekends on call with small animal and some horse work.

I count myself very lucky to be in a position where I can maintain my links with the industry without all that floor mopping! I do miss being in practice though.

I am currently responsible for one pony, one dog, four cats, two pigeons and numerous goldfish.
